The list
Who is Lincoln Chen?
Lincoln Chen is a handyman and gardener based in Byron Bay, NSW. He has worked across the Northern Rivers and Tweed regions for over ten years. See Lincoln Chen in Byron Bay for the short version.
Is there an online booking form?
No. Lincoln does not run an online booking system. Enquiries are by phone or email only, and a real person answers.
How fast will I hear back?
Emails are answered the same business day, Monday to Saturday. If you ring and he is on a job, leave a message with your name and suburb.
Are you insured?
Yes. Lincoln holds current public liability insurance and it applies to every job, indoors and out.
Do you charge for the quote?
No. Quotes are free. If a job changes in scope once he is on site, he talks to you about it before carrying on.
What areas do you cover?
Byron Bay, Brunswick Heads, Bangalow, Mullumbimby, Ocean Shores, Suffolk Park, Lennox Head, Ballina, Kingscliff, Cabarita Beach, Pottsville, Hastings Point and Tweed Heads regularly. Lismore and inland areas by arrangement. See the service area page.
Is there a travel charge?
Not within Byron Bay, Ballina Shire or the coastal Tweed corridor. For inland jobs he tells you upfront if a travel cost applies, before anything is booked.
Do you do commercial work?
Lawn and garden care for commercial properties is welcome, as stated on the lawn mowing page. For anything else, send an email with the details.
Do you work on Sundays?
Sundays are by arrangement. Normal hours are Monday to Friday 7am to 5:30pm and Saturday 8am to 3pm.
Can you do electrical or plumbing work?
No. In NSW, electrical, plumbing and gasfitting work needs a licence whatever the cost, so Lincoln leaves it to licensed tradies and will tell you to book one.
What if a job is too big for you?
He says so. Part of the reason people use him is that he does not take on work he is not suited to.
Do you take away the rubbish?
Yes. Green waste, packaging and offcuts leave with him, so you are not left with a pile in the driveway.
