Hanging things isn't hard until they're heavy, or the wall isn't what you thought it was.
What gets mounted
Pictures, mirrors, shelves, curtain rails, coat hooks, wall-mounted storage and similar. A gallery wall with fifteen frames in a layout is the kind of job where it pays to have someone with a level and a plan.
Fixings matter
Plasterboard, brick, concrete and timber studs each need different fixings. A heavy mirror in the wrong plug ends up on the floor. Tell us what's going up and roughly how heavy it is.
Layout first
For several items, lay them out on the floor or mark up with tape, and send a photo of the wall. It saves holes in the wrong places.
TVs are on their own page: TV mounting. Fill old holes with painting and patching. See also flat-pack assembly for wall-fixing furniture.
What to send us
A photo of the wall, a list of what is going up, and the size and weight of anything heavy. If you want a layout, a quick sketch or a photo with tape marks on the wall is plenty.
Rentals
Check with the owner or agent before drilling. We can talk through options with fewer or smaller holes.
