Planting is the fun part. The prep is what decides whether anything survives.
Before planting
Clear the bed of weeds and grass, loosen the soil and add what it needs. Sandy soil near the coast and heavier soil inland want different treatment. We'll plan around what you have.
What goes in
Natives, tropicals, hedging plants, edibles and fruit trees. If you've bought the plants, we'll plant them. If you want suggestions for a spot, such as full sun, shade or salt exposure, say so and we'll advise.
After planting
A layer of mulch and a good watering. New plants need regular water for the first few weeks, so if you have irrigation, see reticulation checks.

What to send us
A photo of the bed, roughly how big it is, and how much sun it gets. If you have plants in mind, a list helps. If the bed is full of grass or weeds, say so, because clearing it is most of the work.
Timing
Plants settle in best when they're not hit by a heatwave or a week of heavy rain straight after planting. We'll suggest a sensible window when we quote.
